Children will use what they know about addition and subtraction of two digit numbers to aid them in mentally adding and subtracting numbers with 1 and 2 decimal places throughout this worksheet.
To begin, learners will consider tenth and hundredth equivalence in section A. Section B makes use of a hundred square as students are encouraged to shade in parts of the hundred square in order to complete three addition questions. This enables children to see the link between finding the sum, for example, of 42 and 31 and 0.42 and 0.31.
Section C focuses on place value as pupils find a given number of tenths or hundredths more and less of five decimal numbers. In sections D and E pupils will put these skills to use as they complete a set of questions including in the form of addition pyramids.
