Here students are encouraged to use arrays in order to aid them in doubling numbers up to 20.
The questions are presented as multiplication or in written form for example “double 8”. There are eleven questions altogether, each with either a dedicated space for students to draw arrays or an array that is half drawn.. Learners will practise doubling single and two digit numbers as well as both odd and even numbers. Some numbers require regrouping, for example 16 + 16 but using the manipulatives can eliminate this if preferred.
