Introducing the Multiplication Symbol worksheet description

This worksheet links repeated addition and multiplication in order to introduce the multiplication symbol and encourage students to write multiplication number sentences.

Learners will: write repeated addition and multiplication sentences from images where number frames and dice are used to represent multiplications such as 3 lots of 5, match repeated addition sentences to multiplication sentences and fill gaps to make number sentences correct.

All calculations are based on the 2, 5 and 10 times tables in line with the UK curriculum for year 2 pupils.
