Learners will work with metric measures for length throughout this worksheet including: converting between kilometres and metres, comparing lengths and addition and subtraction of lengths, over multiple sections.
In section A pupils decide when measuring in metres or kilometres is most appropriate.
A double number line is used for converting a whole number of kilometres into metres in section B.
Next, pupils will convert lengths such as 3 km 425 m into metres and vice versa in section C. This section also includes converting fractional amounts of kilometres into metres.
Inequality symbols are used to compare distances in section D.
Lastly pupils will add and subtract lengths in either km and m or metres.
