## Adding and Subtracting Fractions worksheet description

Combine students' knowledge of adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator and find equivalent fractions in this adding and subtracting fractions worksheet.

Section A starts with adding and subtracting unit fractions. An example shows how this is done using fraction equivalence to encourage students to do so whilst reminding them that fractions must have the same denominator before they can be added or subtracted.

In section B, students gradually progress to working with one unit fraction and one non-unit fraction and then to two fractions with a numerator greater than 1.

Challenge students in section C with addition and subtraction of mixed numbers and improper fractions.
