Draw Composite and Dual Bar Charts worksheet description

Students will not only practise drawing dual and composite bar charts throughout this worksheet, but they will also explore the similarities and differences between them, as well as their respective pros and cons.

In Section A, learners will compare the same data displayed in both formats. In Section B, students will draw two dual bar charts, with pre-drawn axes provided, though they will need to create a key for question 2. Next, in Section C, students will draw two composite bar charts, gradually progressing to drawing their own axes. The worksheet concludes by asking students to consider the pros and cons of the two types of data displays, including when it is appropriate to use each. They are encouraged to provide examples to support their explanations.
