Students will calculate both positive and negative gradients of straight lines shown on square grids and coordinate grids, as well as calculate the gradient of the line joining two points or coordinates.

In section A, learners begin calculating the gradient of straight lines on square grids. The section even begins with showing how the gradient is calculated.

Learners will progress in section B to calculate gradients of straight lines drawn on coordinate grids. Students will have to check the axes in each question as we have used different scaling throughout the section.

Section C will provide a challenge for your learners. Here they will find the gradients of lines connecting two points, some of which are drawn on coordinate grids and in some cases only the coordinates are provided.
