Negative Indices worksheet description

This worksheet will guide pupils through working with negative indices, beginning with finding the reciprocals of variables, integers, fractions, terminating decimals and a recurring decimal in sections A and B.

Section C consists of 8 algebraic terms with negative indices which learners must write in fractional form. Students will do the opposite of this in section D, where 8 fractions are to be written in base and index form.

Next, in section E, will work out the value of 12 different numerical bases and negative indices. Bases are integer, fractional and decimals.

Lastly, pupils are to fill gaps to make mathematical statements correct. Such as 1/16 = 2ˀ.
