Negative Number Multiplication and Division asks students to practice this essential skill and challenges them to pattern spot, generate their own rules and finally solve some puzzles.
Section A starts with a multiplication grid of numbers from -3 to 3 inclusive. This grid is brilliant for starting discussions around patterns and leads students to spot the rules for multiplication with both positive and negative numbers.
Now students know how to multiply with directed numbers and will complete 3 multiplication grids in section B.
Section C requires students to problem solve with division and hence discover the rules for the division of directed numbers.
In section D, students can practice their newfound skills with more multiplication grids.
Finally, challenge students to complete our puzzles in section E.
