Images are used in Ratio and Fractions A to aid in students' understanding of ratio and fraction equivalence.
Section A starts with 3 questions around coloured counters with the ratios stated. Students will consider the total parts and see the link between this and the denominator of the equivalent fraction.
Then, in section B, learners are given three partially shaded rectangles, which they then have to state fractions and ratios of the shaded and unshaded parts.
In section C, students are given a fraction and asked to convert this into a two-part ratio.
Now try Ratio and Fractions B!
