Rotational and Refelctive Symmetry of Polygons worksheet description

Work with both rotational and line symmetry together throughout this worksheet.

In section A, students will state the order of rotational symmetry and draw lines of symmetry on a variety of twelve regular and irregular polygons. Tracing paper may be used by your learners if accessible. After completion, it’s worth asking your pupils what differences they notice with irregular and regular polygons.

Next, section B consists of four ‘show me’ questions where students will draw polygons that fit certain criteria, such as a polygon with infinite rotational symmetry.

Section C will see students articulate their reasoning with three always, sometimes, never statements.
