Surface Area- ‘L’ Shaped Prisms worksheet description

This worksheet offers a comprehensive exploration of calculating the surface area of L-shaped prisms, structured into three increasingly challenging sections. Section A introduces students to the concept by having them sketch each face of the prism, correctly labelling each part. Students then calculate the surface area of each face, eventually determining the total surface area of the prism. Additionally, learners consider a formula which can be used to calculate surface area.

In Section B, students will gain fluency by calculating the surface area of four different prisms, reinforcing their skills through repetitive practice.

Section C ramps up the difficulty, presenting learners with two problem-solving questions. Here, students must use a given surface area to determine a missing dimension, and they will encounter a solid labelled with algebraic expressions.
