Familiarise your students with the language of probability and introduce them to the probability scale with this worksheet.
In section A, learners will place nine statements on a scale from impossible to certain. Next students will evaluate eight statements such as “you will blink today” and will decide what the probability is of each event. The language used includes, impossible, very unlikely, unlikely, even chance, likely, very likely and certain. The last section asks students to create an event to match each of the probabilities listed above.
See our worksheet “Calculating Probabilities” next. It is the perfect follow-up to the language of probability.
