Magic Squares provide an excellent opportunity for students to problem solve and work on numeracy skills. Here are 5 pages of 6 magic squares for learners to solve. The difficulty level increases with each new page and there is something suitable for years 3 to 9 inclusive and all abilities are catered for.

Also included is a blank page for students to create their own magic squares. To solve the missing squares on pages 1 – 3 learners must find the missing number labelled X or Y. Each row, column and diagonal adds up to the same total. On pages 4 and 5 each row, column and diagonal adds up to three times the middle number
