3D Pythagoras (A) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 8th Grade, Geometry, IM 1
CCSS: 8.G.B.8
CCSS Description: Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between two points in a coordinate system.

3D Pythagoras (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet provides six challenging problems that will involve learners using Pythagoras' Theorem to find missing lengths of 3D shapes. The shapes in this worksheet consist of cubes, triangular prisms and a square based pyramid. Some of the questions also involve the volume of the shape so learners may need to know the volume formulae and be able to work backwards if given the volume. You can find more questions in 3D Pythagoras (B).

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet is designed for IM 1, Geometry, and 8th Grade students who are ready to tackle more advanced applications of the Pythagorean Theorem. Students at these levels typically have a solid foundation in basic right triangle calculations and are prepared to extend their understanding to three-dimensional contexts. The combination of spatial reasoning and algebraic manipulation makes this suitable for students transitioning into higher-level geometric thinking.
