Adding Parentheses (B) worksheet description

This worksheet takes a deep dive into how parentheses can alter the answer to a calculation or mathematical expression.

Section A consists of eight calculations that each have four possible answers listed. Students will choose the correct answer. For the first time in our order of operations collection, positive and negative integers are used. Calculations consist of all four operations, parentheses and exponents. However, students are only required to square numbers in any calculation involving exponents.

Next, in section B, students are faced with ten mathematical statements that are not correct. Parentheses must be added to each in order to make the statements true. Some calculations require two pairs ofparentheses.
