Area of Quadrilaterals (A) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.G.A.1
CCSS Description: Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.

Area of Quadrilaterals (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

In section A, students will calculate the area of squares and rectangles, including one quadrilateral with decimal dimensions.

Next, students will practice calculating the area of parallelograms and rhombuses in section B. Your learners will sometimes have to choose the correct lengths for the formula of base x height. The last question is a compound shape made up of two parallelograms.

Encourage your learners to use suitable units for area throughout this worksheet. For an extra challenge, students could answer these questions without the use of a calculator.
