Congruent Triangles WORKSHEET
Suitable for Grades: 8th Grade
CCSS: 8.G.A.2
CCSS Description: Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
Congruent Triangles WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Learners will work with the four rules of congruency throughout this worksheet. For convenience, the four rules are listed at the beginning of the worksheet. Students will start by selecting the rule that shows eight pairs of triangles are congruent in Section A.
In Section B, students will determine whether an additional six triangles are congruent or not. For those that are congruent, they must provide the reason why. Finally, there are eight triangles that need to be sorted into congruent pairs. There is a slight challenge, as two triangles cannot be paired up.
