Coordinate Shapes (with clues) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 4th Grade, 5th Grade
CCSS: 4.G.A.1, 5.G.A.2
CCSS Description: Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.

CCSS Description: Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.

Coordinate Shapes (with clues) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Here we have provided five coordinate grids alongside five sets of four coordinates. Each pair of coordinates is the vertex of a quadrilateral. Students will plot each coordinate on the corresponding grid then decide how they should connect the points to form a quadrilateral before naming the shape they have drawn.

We have created two versions of this worksheet, in case your learners may need a helping hand remembering and naming the quadrilaterals. This option with clues provides a named drawing of 6 different quadrilaterals.
