Creating Equivalent Ratios (B) WORKSHEET
Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.RP.A.3.A
CCSS Description: Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations. Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. Use tables to compare ratios.
Creating Equivalent Ratios (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Learners will master dividing amounts into ratios in no time with this carefully planned worksheet.
In section A, there are 8 amounts of money to be divided into 5 different ratios each. We have added an extra dimension here, as each amount is to be divided into 5 ratios all with the same sums, thus allowing students to get to grips with how the ‘parts’ can be shared.
Next, learners have five new amounts to be divided into five ratios each. This time, all the ratios have different sums, enabling students to really practice this method and process.
In section C, we have provided some blank space for either creation of questions by parents, teachers, or students themselves.
