Halving 2 Digit Even Numbers WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet provides practice of halving two digit even numbers. Learners will begin by linking doubling and halfing as inverses and pairing up numbers from a set of ten into doubles and halves of each other.
Next, in section B, pupils will half numbers by partitioning them into tens and ones, halfing them separately and then combining for the answer. Number sentences are the model used. In this section the numbers to be halfed require no regrouping as the tens are all even.
The same model and partitioning structure is used in section C however, the numbers now do require regrouping as then tens are all odd.
