Measuring Perimeter in Centimeters WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.G.A.1
CCSS Description: Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.

Measuring Perimeter in Centimeters WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet gives learners the opportunity to practice measuring lengths in centimeters and then add those lengths to find the perimeter of a shape. Section A provides rectangles, giving learners the option to measure the length and width if they wish and then to go on to calculate the perimeter. Section B then provides a mixture of rectilinear shapes.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your student will strengthen their ability to use a ruler accurately to measure lengths in centimeters, which is a fundamental skill in geometry. They'll also learn to apply these measurements practically by calculating perimeter, helping them understand the connection between measurement and mathematical computation. This hands-on approach builds confidence with both measurement tools and area and perimeter concepts.
