Midpoints of Lines WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 4th Grade, 5th Grade
CCSS: 4.G.A.1, 5.G.A.2
CCSS Description: Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.

CCSS Description: Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.

Midpoints of Lines WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet provides practice plotting, reading and writing coordinates in both the first quadrant and all four quadrants whilst working with midpoints of lines.

In section A, students are given three coordinate pairs to plot which they must join to form a triangle before finding the midpoint of each side of the triangle.

Next up, learners are given the midpoints of each side of the triangle and will use these to find the coordinates of each vertex before plotting and joining to form the triangles.

All coordinate pairs consist of integers.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet is designed for 4th and 5th grade students who are developing their coordinate geometry skills. The focus on integer coordinates and triangle construction makes it accessible for students at these grade levels while still providing meaningful practice with midpoint concepts.
