Nets and Faces - Using Cubes (C) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.G.A.4
CCSS Description: Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.

Nets and Faces - Using Cubes (C) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

The focus of this worksheet is to enable students to draw 3D shapes made out of cubes from their plans and elevations.

In section A, learners will match images of four 3D shapes with the correct set of elevations and plans.

Then, in section B, pupils will draw 5 3D shapes on isometric grids using their plans and elevations.

There are two more worksheets in this series looking at 3D shapes constructed from cubes in our series which make for an excellent introduction to what can be a challenging topic for students who struggle with spatial reasoning.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet is designed for 6th grade students who are learning about constructions in geometry. At this level, students are ready to tackle the spatial reasoning challenges that come with visualizing 3D shapes from different perspectives and translating between 2D plans and 3D representations.
