Nets of Cubes and Prisms WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.G.A.4
CCSS Description: Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.

Nets of Cubes and Prisms WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Nets of Cuboids aims to build pupils' confidence in accurately drawing nets of cuboids and is ideal for students who struggle with spatial reasoning.

In section A, learners will match four different cuboids to the correct net.

Then, in section B students are asked to accurately draw just one shaded face of three different cuboids.
Before drawing a whole net in section C, pupils will first label the net of a cuboid with the correct dimensions. In this section pupils are provided with images of each face and must just put them together to form a correct net.

In section D, students are asked to identify and explain what is wrong with the image of a net of a cuboid.
Lastly, pupils will draw two accurate nets of cuboids without any scaffolding or guidance.
