Ordering Fractions WORKSHEET

Ordering fractions can be tricky. This worksheet will guide your learners through the method of finding equivalent fractions first.

Section A starts with an example where 2/3 , 9/15 and 4⁄5 are ordered. The fractions are written as equivalent fractions with the same denominator before being put into ascending order. The section progresses from sets of fractions where the common multiple of denominators is already present on to sets of fractions where students are required to find the LCM of denominators.

Section B will challenge you students as they are tasked with writing an ordered set of fractions with either a numerator or denominator given. This really calls for students to consider the relative size of fractions with different denominators.
