Define appropriate quantities for the purpose of descriptive modeling.

Our Solar System- Discovering Size and Distance WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Here is a non-calculator worksheet on the circumference and area of circles. Answers, where appropriate, will be left in terms of pi. Section A is about finding the circumference given either the radius or diameter. Section B is about finding the area given either the radius or diameter. Section C then gives some sectors (quarter circles or semicircles) and compound shapes and asks for both the perimeter and area - the Pythagorean Theorem is required for question 3. Section D then gives either the area or circumference of a circle in terms of pi and asks for the other measurement.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

Since this covers Units and Dimensions at the Geometry and IM 2 level, you should be comfortable with basic circle formulas for circumference and area. You'll also need to know the Pythagorean Theorem since it's specifically required for one of the problems in Section C involving compound shapes.
