CCSS Description: Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity); solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent.

Percents of an Amount (D) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet asks students to fill in the blanks of a spider diagram. Section A requires students to use some mental methods for finding 10%, 1%, 50% and 25% of some given amounts. Section B changes the task to finding those and other percentages of an amount in the center of the spider diagram. The percentages in the diagrams are well planned, giving simple percentages to find that can then be combined in a sum or difference to find the others. For example, 10%, 1%, 11%, 90% and 99%. A Section C is provided with blank spider diagram, so that students can make up their own questions.
