Pi (C) WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: Geometry, IM 2
CCSS: 7.G.B.6, HSN.Q.A.1
CCSS Description: Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving area, volume, and surface area of two- and three-dimensional objects composed of triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, cubes, and right prisms.

Use units as a way to understand problems and to guide the solution of multistep problems; choose and interpret units consistently in formulas; choose and interpret the scale and the origin in graphs and data displays.

Pi (C) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Here is a non-calculator worksheet on the volume and surface area of cones and spheres. Answers, where appropriate, will be left in terms of π. Section A focuses on finding the surface area of a sphere given either the radius or diameter. Section B involves finding the volume of a sphere given either the radius or diameter. Section C requires determining both the volume and surface area of cones given information about the radius or diameter and height or slant length. Lastly, Section D asks for the surface area of a hemisphere and the volume of a compound shape.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet is designed for students in Geometry and IM 2 (Integrated Math 2) courses. These grade levels typically cover advanced three-dimensional shape concepts and are ready to work with formulas involving π in exact form rather than decimal approximations.
