Proving Values of Special Right Triangles WORKSHEET
Suitable for Grades: Geometry, Algebra II
CCSS: HSG.SRT.B.4
CCSS Description: Prove theorems about triangles. Theorems include: a line parallel to one side of a triangle divides the other two proportionally, and conversely; the Pythagorean Theorem proved using triangle similarity.
Proving Values of Special Right Triangles WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet leads learners through finding the exact trigonometric ratios for 0, 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees. Section A introduces the concept of the unit circle and asks learners to estimate values from reading from the graph. Section B then introduces the first of the special triangles that can help learners derive some of the values. Sections C and D use the triangles to ask for tables of the ratios to be completed. Section E then asks for all of the values to be summarized in a new table.
