Pythagorean Theorem: Calculating Missing Side Lengths WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

Learners will practice calculating the longest side and a shorter side in right angled triangles with this bumper Pythagoras worksheet.

Firstly, students will work squaring and square rooting numbers and expressions in section A.

Then in section B, there are twelve right angled triangles in different orientations for learners to use Pythagoras’ theorem to calculate the missing lenghts, starting with four questions where they will be calculating a shorter side of the triangle and progressing to a mixture of both. This helps to increase your learners flexibility when working with the formula.

All but three answers are integers to allow you students to focus on applying the formula.

This write - on worksheet has plenty of space for students to methodically write down the formula and show their work each time.
