Ratio and Fractions WORKSHEET
Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas, and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, walk 1/2 mile in 1/4 hour yields a rate of 2 miles per hour.
Ratio and Fractions WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Images are used in Ratio and Fractions to aid in students' understanding of ratio and fraction equivalence.
Section A starts with 3 questions about colored counters. Students will consider the total parts and see the link between this and the denominator of the equivalent fraction as well stating the number of counters as a ratio.
Then, in section B learners are given three partially shaded rectangles, and they then have to state fractions and ratios of the shaded and unshaded parts.
In section C, students are given three ratios which they will write as a fraction.
Lastly, pupils will use bar models to write fractions as ratios.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions
This worksheet is specifically designed for 6th grade and 7th grade students. The visual approach using colored counters, shaded rectangles, and bar models makes it particularly effective for these grade levels where students are developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between ratios and fractions. The progression from concrete visual representations to more abstract ratio-to-fraction conversions aligns well with typical middle school math curricula.
