Reflection Symmetry WORKSHEET
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
Reflection Symmetry WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Throughout this worksheet your students will practice reflecting shapes in horizontal and vertical mirror lines as well as drawing mirror lines between an object and an image. All questions are on individual square grids.
In section A, students will be reflecting shapes. Ensure they are equipped with a pencil and a ruler to complete their transformations. The shapes to be reflected are made up of horizontal, vertical and diagonal sides and one even has a vertex on a mirror line; the perfect time to introduce and discuss invariant points with your learner or class.
In section B, students will draw a mirror line between a reflected object and image. There are three questions and two where the object and image overlap.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

This worksheet covers reflection symmetry and is designed for both 4th grade and 8th grade students. The transformations content can be adapted to different skill levels, with younger students focusing on basic reflections while older students can explore more complex concepts like invariant points when vertices lie on mirror lines.
