Rounding to the Nearest Multiple of 1,000 WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet is designed to help students practice the concept of rounding numbers to the nearest multiple of 1,000.
Section A challenges students to identify multiples of 1,000 from a given list of numbers.
In Section B, students are asked to color numbers on a number line according to whether they round up or down to the nearest thousand. They are then prompted to observe patterns and formulate a rule for rounding to the nearest 1,000 before applying this rule to decide whether numbers will round to 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000 when rounded and rounding twelve different numbers themselves.
