Throughout this worksheet, learners will use bar models and fact families in order to solve one step equations. Fact families reinforce the idea that addition and subtraction (or multiplication and division) are inverse operations, helping students understand how to rewrite the equation that provides a solution; while bar models help students visualize what the equation represents, making it easier to comprehend and solve.
The challenge slowly builds to help your learners feel more confident and will see learners solving 9 one step equations involving all four operations (including those students typically find more difficult such as 41 - n = 21 and 110/u = 22) and forming and solving 4 further equations.
