Substituing Value into Formulas (B) WORKSHEET
Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.EE.A.2.C
CCSS Description: Evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. Include expressions that arise from formulas used in real-world problems. Perform arithmetic operations, including those involving whole-number exponents, in the conventional order when there are no parentheses to specify a particular order (Order of Operations). For example, use the formulas V = s3 and A = 6 s2 to find the volume and surface area of a cube with sides of length s = 1/2.
Substituing Value into Formulas (B) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Students will work with formulae they may recognize throughout this worksheet. Students are given formulae and are required to substitute each variable within each formula. Values learners will substitute are positive, negative, integer, and decimal.
Section A is designed to be completed without a calculator. Students will use the formula for converting celsius to fahrenheit, calculating velocity, the nth term of an arithmetic sequence, and more.
Calculators are advised in order to complete section B, as students will use formulae including pi , other formulae for motion, and the quadratic formula. Our answers are rounded to 2 decimal places and we have let pi = 3.14.
