Time Calculations (A) WORKSHEET
Time Calculations (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Time Calculations will see learners using times in 12 formats and durations in minutes and hours and minutes in order to calculate start and end times as well as duration lengths.
In section A learners are given the start time and duration of six films and are asked to calculate the end times of each.
Section B focuses on calculating durations. The section begins with a list of six pairs of times, and learners will find the length of time between the two times. There are also three word problems with themes such as the length of a meeting.
Students work backwards to find start times in section C. Firstly, they are given the arrival time and journey length of five trains and they will calculate the departure time of each. Again, there are three word problems to conclude the worksheet.
All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your 3rd grader will develop essential time calculation abilities by working with 12-hour clock formats and time durations expressed in both minutes and hours with minutes. They'll strengthen their problem-solving skills through three different types of calculations: finding end times, calculating durations between given times, and working backwards to determine start times. These foundational skills help students understand time relationships and prepare them for more complex scheduling problems.
