CCSS Description: Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry.

Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.

Introduce your students to the translation of polygons with this worksheet. Here, your learners can build their confidence in completing a translation by drawing the image in the correct orientation before moving on to understanding translation vectors.

Section A consists of nine questions of an object and an image on individual square grids and asks students to describe each translation in words.

Next in section B, starting with a simple square, students will begin translating images from worded instructions. Some objects and images will overlap here.
