Translations in the 1st Quadrant (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet will help learners understand how translations affect coordinates in the 1st quadrant. Section A asks for points presented on a 1st quadrant coordinate grid to be translated using the directions right, left, up and down along with wanting the coordinate of the images to be written. Section B provides the image of a translated point and asks for the object coordinate. Section C asks for missing coordinates of objects and images for given translations without the aid of a diagram.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.

Frequently Asked Questions

This worksheet is specifically designed for 8th grade students who are learning about transformations in coordinate geometry. At this level, students are ready to work with coordinate pairs and understand how movement affects position on a grid. The focus on the 1st quadrant makes it accessible while still building essential skills for more advanced transformation work.
