Understanding Fractions and Whole Numbers WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
In order to work with mixed numbers and improper fractions, learners must first understand fractions as part of a whole and understand that a whole is made when the numerator and denominator are equal.
When working through this worksheet learners will: use diagrams to state how many parts make a whole, calculate how many more parts are needed to make a whole, split 1 into different fractions using part part whole models and choose pairs of fractions that sum to 1 with the same denominators.
