WHAT IS VOLUME?
Volume is the amount of space a 3-dimensional object occupies.
HOW TO CALCULATE THE VOLUME OF RECTANGULAR PRISMS?
To find the volume of a rectangular prism, all we need to do is to multiply the length, width and height of the prism.
Volume of the prism = length x width x height
Quick example how to find the volume of a rectangular prism:
Dimensions of the rectangular prism:
Length: 4 cm
Width: 7 cm
Height: 5 cm
As we said earlier, it is really easy to find the volume of a rectangular prism if you have the dimensions of each side.
Volume of rectangular prism = 4 x 7 x 5
4 x 7 x 5 = 140 cubic units
Check our surface area and volume worksheets and practice your mathematical skills. With our worksheets you will easily find the volume of any rectangular prism, or the surface area of cones and spheres.
