Angles in Kites WORKSHEET

Suitable for Grades: 7th Grade, 8th Grade
CCSS: 7.G.B.5, 8.G.A.5
CCSS Description: Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve simple equations for an unknown angle in a figure.

Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.

Angles in Kites WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet on angles in kites is designed to take students on a deep dive into the unique angle properties of this quadrilateral.

In Section A, learners will use the fundamental rule that angles in a quadrilateral sum to 360° to find missing angles in kites. This process will lead them to the key discovery that a kite has one pair of equal opposite angles. The section reinforces this concept by asking students to highlight these equal angle pairs.

Section B builds on this understanding by providing students with an opportunity to solidify their skills through a variety of calculations.

Section C presents a series of increasingly challenging questions that require students to apply their knowledge of kite properties alongside other geometric rules and algebraic manipulation.

All worksheets are created by the team of experienced teachers at Cazoom Math.
