CCSS Description: Recognize angle measure as additive. When an angle is decomposed into non-overlapping parts, the angle measure of the whole is the sum of the angle measures of the parts. Solve addition and subtraction problems to find unknown angles on a diagram in real world and mathematical problems, e.g., by using an equation with a symbol for the unknown angle measure.

Calculating Angles (A) worksheet description

Use three basic angle facts to calculate missing angles with this worksheet. Encourage students to complete this worksheet without the use of a calculator to also help improve mental or written numeracy skills.

In section A, students will find missing angles within right angles followed by missing angles on straight lines in section B. students will calculate missing angles around a point in section C.

Section D consists of two diagrams made up of multiple straight lines and intersections with some angles given and some angles labelled for students to calculate. Here learners will use all three rules from this worksheet and even be introduced to the additional rule of vertically opposite angles being equal.
