Calculating Angles on Parallel Lines with Transversals (C) WORKSHEET

CCSS Description: Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.

Calculating Angles on Parallel Lines with Transversals (C) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

There are twenty missing angles to find across nine diagrams, which get increasingly difficult. Students will have to use a multitude of angle rules to calculate the missing angles, including spotting where to find a missing angle in a triangle and extending parallel lines.

In section B, learners are given three problems where they will have to form and solve equations before calculating the size of each angle.

We have created two versions of this worksheet, one with and one without clues. Choose which is appropriate for your class or individuals.
