Dilations on the Coordinate Plane WORKSHEET

This worksheet consists of dilations by negative integer and positive fractional scale factors on x and y axes.

In section A, students will complete four dilations on separate sets of axes from centers of dilation given as coordinates and negative scale factors -1, -2, and -3 and the fractional scale factor 1/2 . Centers of dilation vary in their relative positions to each object. Objects are translucent to aid your students' transformations.

Then, in section B, there are two questions where the object and image are given and students must define the scale factor and find the center of dilation in each case.
