Properties of 3D Shapes WORKSHEET
Suitable for Grades: Kindergarten, 2nd Grade
CCSS: 2.G.A.1, K.G.B.4
CCSS Description: Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces.5 Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/“corners”) and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length).

Properties of 3D Shapes WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Throughout this worksheet learners will identify and describe the properties of 3-D shapes, including the number of edges, vertices and faces. In section A, students will name eight different 3d shapes. We have included the names so this can be completed as a match up activity. Then in section B, learners must match up 3D shapes to a brief description such as “Has 6 flat faces. All of them are rectangles”. Lastly , students will complete a table by counting the number of edges, vertices and faces six different 3D shapes have. We have included pictures here.
