Rotations and Reflections on the Coordinate Plane WORKSHEET
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is similar to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, translations, and dilations; given two similar two-dimensional figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the similarity between them.
Rotations and Reflections on the Coordinate Plane WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Students can begin to describe single transformations fully with this worksheet. As the worksheet only contains reflections and rotations, learners can really focus on the difference in these two transformations. The worksheet consists of nine questions with an object and an image clearly labeled and displayed on their own set of axes in all four quadrants.
When describing reflection, students must state the equation of the mirror line such as y = -3 and to describe rotations, the angle and direction of rotation should be stated along with the center of rotation given as a coordinate.
Learners may use tracing paper throughout, it proves very useful when describing rotations.
