Simplify - Using Algebra Tiles WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Algebra tiles are a powerful visual tool used to help students understand the concepts of expanding and simplifying algebraic expressions in an interactive and engaging way. This worksheet will help build learners’ confidence in simplifying expressions that involve multiplying a single term over a bracket.
Each of the four sections begins with an example which is followed by 5 minimally different questions.
In section A, All terms are positive. Negatives are introduced in section B. Next, students will simplify expressions involving two single brackets such as 2(4x + 1) + 3(2x + 4) in sections C and D. Negative terms are introduced once again in section D.
