Substituing Value into Formulas (A) (With Clues) WORKSHEET
Suitable for Grades: 6th Grade
CCSS: 6.EE.A.2.C
CCSS Description: Evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. Include expressions that arise from formulas used in real-world problems. Perform arithmetic operations, including those involving whole-number exponents, in the conventional order when there are no parentheses to specify a particular order (Order of Operations). For example, use the formulas V = s3 and A = 6 s2 to find the volume and surface area of a cube with sides of length s = 1/2.
Substituing Value into Formulas (A) (With Clues) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet is made up of five questions, introducing students to substituting into formulae from word problems. Questions are based around the following themes: calculating distance, finding both the perimeter of a rectangle, fare calculator for a taxi driver, area of a triangle, and volume of a cuboid. Questions 2 to 5 also require students to form and solve equations to calculate missing information.
We have created two versions of this worksheet, this version with clues and one without. Clues come in the form of supporting diagrams and the formation of equations. Choose whichever works best for your class/individual, or have both available.
