Approximation WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION

This worksheet focuses not only on rounding but also choosing suitable values for estimating answers to calculations.

Section A asks learners to complete a large table where they need to choose suitable values to approximate the answer to a calculation as well as find the actual answer. Learners will need to be aware that sometimes rounding to 1 significant figure is not always the best method when estimating some calculations.

Section B then provides six-worded problems involving estimation.
